Deleted.I had to do it.
Cleared out the 3000 devs and 500 misc messages in my message center.
Having no internet at home for the past few months has been fantastic.
I've been able to read so much more than usual!
Atlas Shrugged (for a second time), We the Living, The Fountainhead, The Road to Serfdom, Psychological Nudity, Economics in One Lesson, The Anti-Capitalistic Mentality.. and so much more to get to.
Since I've sold off some of my gear, I've been watching my bank accounts grow a bit and my debt go down significantly. So yesterday I decided it was time to get my mom something nice for her birthday. I picked up a set of pricey earrings.. how pricey? let's just say, I don't spend this much on food in a month--and I eat out pretty much every day. They are white gold, amethyst and polished coral. Just her style, quite surfer girl-ish, but very nice. I'm so stoked I found these.
Anyway, I'm outta here.
fotologue.jp!I've got good news and I've got bad news.
It seems that Uber.com is dead. It has been down for.. close to a month now I think, with no word at all. What a bummer.
I re-discovered a fantastic site that has been around for a while now www.fotologue.jp Fotologue is probably the most functional, most well designed/organized flash site I have seen. I know some people despise flash because it usually means slow, buggy, and.. slow. But check it out, you will be impressed.
The thing about this site I am really excited about is the "Gallery" page. Here is mine: http://fotologue.jp/niimo
It only has a few customizing capabilities, but I love the organization, and the look.
Obviously not a total replacement for Uber, but it is awesome, and it is free. So have a look.
p.s. One disadvantage, the FAQ is all in Japanses.

Check out Uber.com!So here is the deal, Uber.com is the only free site that I know of that offers the tools and platform to build your own website (with gallery, slideshow, blog, music, and more), and is community based. It give the best balance of structure and creative freedom that I have seen. Again, it is free.
The down side? it recently ran into some financial trouble and nearly shut down. Their plan was to close on September 28th, Monday. However, the members made so much noise about it, it got the attention of a few other companies who MAY decide to back Uber.
So I am out to promote them to the best of my ability.
Check out my website that I built using and is totally supported by Uber for free:
Some other great examples to see the potential:
KEH.com rules!!!A huge disadvantage to living in Hawaii has always been high shipping costs. Many online retail stores have denied shipping to Hawaii altogether until the past few years.
I've been a consistent loyal customer of bhphotovideo.com for several years now for a few reasons:
1. Always reasonable prices
2. Great service
3. They have a US Postal Service shipping option, which means I can generally get reasonable shipping costs.
KEH.com is a store I'd heard great things about, and they have a tremendous selection of older and newer/used equipment. However, up until recently I had never purchased from them because they only shipped by UPS or FEDEX which means only 2nd Day Air to Hawaii--very expensive.
However, there were a few items that I would save a bundle on if I got it from them this time. So I bit the bullet and agreed to pay $25 for a $237.00 order. I got an email soon after saying that the items had been reserved for me, but th
Ubertastic!Uber.com has gotten much better since I've really taken a look at it a few months ago. I pretty much don't know anything about building a website and I was able to put this together in a few days.. check it out!
If you haven't yet voted for me over at JPG Mag.. do it for the puppies!

Also, finally rounding the final turn so to speak, in Atlas Shrugged. For a while I was breezing through it, which is unusual for me. But then I hit a wall in the mid 900's during John Galt's speech that stretch from page 923 to 979! That

page 775It's too late to write much of a journal but I had to get the sale stuff off the from page.
I'm on page 775 of Atlas Shrugged, outside of the Bible it is the longest book I've read--well, I still have over 225 pages to go, but I have read the Bible cover to cover. So it's not that I doubted that I would finish Atlas Shrugged, but considering how blindly I went into it, I am thrilled by how much I am enjoying it.
Clarence Thomas made a passing reference to the book in his memoir, "My Grandfather's Son" which I also thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't think twice about the book. However, one day while browsing in the literature section of a local used book store I saw it and the name struck me as familiar. I didn't buy it that day. I did the following week though. I found it funny that I bought it for $4.50 yet there was an old price tag left carelessly on for $0.99. Hehe whatever, they gotta make money somehow, right?

SAVE THE LOUD HOUSE!!!IF YOU LIKE TLH, THEN SPREAD THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!!!
If you didn't know, I like this recent show on Nick called The Loud House, and you should go check it out too!
But that's not the thing.... The thing is that One Million Moms is trying to cancel this show for a REALLY stupid reason. Here's why:
In the episode "Overnight Success.", It appears that the Louds are having a slumber party. In one scene, Lincon's friend Clyde gets dropped off by his parents for the slumber party. Seems ok, right? But NOOO, the Moms are angry because Clyde has TWO Dads IN A TINY LITTLE CAMEO. AND THAT'S THE ONLY THING THEY KNOW ABOUT THE EPISODE!!!
Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to same-sex marriage on a network that is designed for kids.
And that's a bad thing HOW???? That's like saying "Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to b

One Year Laterhttp://koili.deviantart.com/journal/Well-546094597
Exactly one year ago, I was alone in my room, crying. Panicking about what was going to happen in a few hours. I was going to leave behind the only life I knew.
One year ago, I was covered in grease, sweat and dirt. I showered once a month. I barely ate. My clothes and bedding were never washed. I was awoken or kept up every night by my drunken mother who would scream at me for no reason. Every night ended in tears until I passed out from exhaustion. I know she tried to be a good mom, and it was my fault she started drinking in the first place.
I had known :iconchillaid: for five years prior. We had gotten close in 2013 over Animal Crossing: New Leaf. We both found each other at the right time. Our friendship flourished from there. We roleplayed every night and bonded so much. We got so close. I considered her my sister.
:iconchillaid: would hear what my mom would do over Skype. She would stay up with me for the entire night comforting
What's with 'Studying from Life'!?This is the revisiting of a news article I wrote a few years back.
Allow me to begin this article by mentioning that this was written with aspiring professionals in mind. For those of you who wish to pursue art as a hobby with no intention to make it a career choice, I have no doubts in your abilities as an artist, but art for you is a pleasure seeking thing. I would never wish to turn it into something even remotely reminiscent of 'stressful work'--as a hobby should never come to that. So for you hobbyists, feel free to take this article in, but by no means feel obliged to apply the information if you do not find enjoyment in doing so.
As for you aspiring pros, this is an inevitable and unavoidable step you must take in pursuit of your career. This is your job--and if you don't like it, you're probably pursuing the wrong career!
But I digress.
I, like many of you--strive to be a professional in the field of art. In particular, I am an illustrator. I've been fortunate enough to
